The Power of Health

In their first series of events on “The Power of Health”, women of Blazin’ Babes gathered in Highland Park, IL at 2HotYoga a yoga studio owned and operated by Desiree Rios, to emphasize the importance of mental and physical health. “Without health, you cannot go after your dreams, you cannot take care of your family, you cannot achieve your career goals.” – stated by Renata Merino Bregstone, founder and CEO of Blazin’ Babes. “We want to emphasize the need for women to schedule time in their day to take care of their health. Whether it is exercising, scheduling a doctors’ appointment or taking time out to eat a healthy meal, all women must put themselves first when it comes to their health.”

Pam Udell, an instructor at 2HotYoga led a one-of-a-kind hybrid workout which included light weights, traditional yoga poses and resistance bands in a warm room. “Yoga 360 is an all-encompassing 1 hour and 15 minute workout practiced in a warm room. Apart from non-intimidating yoga poses, we use light weights and resistance bands followed by stretching and deep breathing. This class is unique from other workout classes in that we use the wall to help with alignment and support ensuring a neutral spine which is safer for the back. We encourage the ‘non-yogi’ to come and try out the class. It truly is a great workout for both the body and the mind.”– stated by Pam Udell, a yoga instructor known throughout the country with over 25 years of experience in both yoga and exercise science.

Heather Walsh, a resident of Winnetka, was struck by the fact that the class was both a challenging workout where she sweated and burned calories, but also calming. “Although I got in a great workout, I was mentally calm and relaxed by the end of class. I can’t wait to come back and take this class again. ”

Blazin’ Babes is hosting a second event on “The Power of Health” on August 25, 2016 at WheelPower Studio, a new stadium cycling and power sculpting boutique studio located in Deerfield, IL.
